Did liberal Social policy of NOT DISCIPLINING and having CONSEQUENCES for our kids lead to school violence?

• Dozens of teachers, administrators and staff are getting attacked. In the first semester of this school year alone, at least 127 MPS employees reported being physically assaulted by students or outsiders coming to campus.
• Elementary school teachers are falling victim to physical or verbal assaults nearly as much as those in high schools. Close to half the teachers assaulted this year work at elementary or K-8 schools.
• Far more Milwaukee students were expelled for bringing firearms to school last year than in all of the Chicago Public Schools, a district more than four times the size of MPS. In Chicago, unlike Milwaukee, high school students walk through weapons scanners every day, and handguns have virtually disappeared from the schools.
• The number of students expelled and suspended for drugs, violence and weaponshas nearly doubled in the past five years, and many are simply transferred to other schools.
I NEVER see this issue raised here - GREAT question!
I don't think the kids are the problem, the parents are. I'm a cop and whenever we have to deal with problem kids in school, the parents are ALWAYS UNinvolved in their kids lives - and it's not just poor kids either. The problem with schools today is that too many parents look at them as day-care centers and reinforce the idea the kids can act any way they want as long as they don't misbehave around mom.
It's only going to get worse because society's twentysomethings have grown up in a country with eroded standards where education and public behavior are concerned.
They're response to any criticism is "YOU DON'T KNOW ME!" as if I need to know someone to tell them that pushing an old lady out of the way to get on the subway is bad behavior. As if I have to know someone to tell them that BRINGING A GUN TO SCHOOL IS BAD BEHAVIOR?!?
Honestly, 50 years of liberal foolishness has caused this.

Even schools are using the fingerprint scanner
Protection is really a bigger concern today:
In this age of college shootings and terrorist threats, protection is really a bigger concern than ever at our nation's universities. Some community college boards have decided installing fingerprint scanner whatsoever entrances is the best way to proceed.
Proponents of using fingerprint identification at community schools say it's the only way to maintain students secure in a program that's far behind the times in preventing violence. Many junior higher universities and high schools looking at fingerprint scanners have hired protection officials to patrol college grounds. Administrators say these officers aren't enough to fight the growing violence in the schools. Fingerprint scanners would provide a signifies of anticipating difficulties and deterring violence.
Fingerprint scanners are placed at entrance of college:
Below the new system, fingerprint scanners will be placed at every college entrance open to college students. They would scan in when they showed up at college, if they depart the making for lunch, once they come back, and once they go home for that day. Fingerprint scanners will be manned by qualified guards who could notify others if there was a problem.
College protection officers say fingerprint scanner would go a lengthy way to prevent college shootings, fighting, bomb threats, medication use, and ditching. Utilizing fingerprint identification would let them watch when person students enter and depart the school. This would be a deterrent to bringing in weapons and maintain unauthorized non-students out. Officials would also be able to maintain track of college students with histories of violence or drug use and monitor when troublesome combinations of students had been outdoors with each other. They think medication use and gang associated violence at school would drop significantly with this kind of fingerprint identification. College students ditching school would be easier to catch within the act as nicely.
Fingerprint identification used to avoid crimes:
Fingerprint identification at universities would potentially advantage law enforcement outdoors of college as well. Every college student would have his or her fingerprints on file along with a photograph. They might be utilized not just to identify suspects inside a crime, but also students who may be victims of kidnappings and other crimes. The fingerprint scanner would be able to tell every time a college student suspected of a crime or even a missing student entered and exited the school. Police could use this info to piece with each other timelines of crimes.
Whether schools use fingerprint scanner or face recognition software program to ramp up security, there will often be questions about safety versus liberty. This debate can go on, but within the mean time our children have become targets for violence. If we must err, let us err about the side of safety for our kids till we can discover much better methods of dealing with today's security threats for all of us.
